[i]cuteoverload: And It’s Called a “Doughnut,” You Say?

…and yet, if I understand you correctly, it is in fact a baked product, and not a nut at all!  Most intriguing!  And the colorful objects scattered randomly about one side; these are the — what did you call them? — “sprinkles”?   Fascinating!

It’s a world of wonder, Ann S.

[i]cuteoverload: Reindeer Understudies

“Yep, that’s us. If one of the reindeer sprains a fetlock and can’t fly, that’s when we move in. Doesn’t happen often, though;  last time I went up was in ‘73, and Ralph here doubles for Blitzen at shopping center openings.  That’s about it.”

Who knew Santa was so prepared, Paige?

[i]cuteoverload: Merry Marmoset

In the great Cute Overload Christmas Tradition, it’s time for your Annual Marmoset Ear Nom™. Simply wrestle a pygmy Marmoset to the ground and perform a soft-kronche on their ear nubules.

Even if they tilt their heads to the side, they won’t be able to shield their ears forever:

Go on, your furry little morsels await!

[i]cuteoverload: ENCORE: Barkin’ & Quackin’ Around the Tree

And now, a couple o’ classics in the ultra-short tradition of Cute Overload holiday posts (and by this I mean they’re from last year)…

Who’s that flappin’ down the chimney? Who’s that tappin’ at the tree?
It’s the elf with the bill, and he won’t stop until every boy and girl is giddy with glee.

Every Christmas time he’s at it again, a sack full of toys and an IQ of ten,
You might get meat or you might get a doll, ’cause he’s got no clue who you are at all.

So open those presents and try your luck; it could be wood or it could be a truck,
Will Christmas be merry or will it suck? You never can tell with Santa Duck!

Have a possibly Merry Christmas, Karen K.

Day 1230 of 365 4 lyf.

Sweet Home Chicago!

So today was our big travel day. We got up at 4am to get to the airport and fly to New Orleans with a layover in Chicago. By the time we got to Chicago and waiting for our plane shift, both Steph and I were exhausted. One of these days I'm going to realize that sleeping in is more important than saving money.

[i]cuteoverload: Next On “Dr. Drew’s Kleptos”…

Meet Frankie. Obsessive-compulsive hoarder. Steals items that fuel his love for “The Nutcracker” and dental hygiene.

We just feel bad for that poor ballerina out there who’s tippy-toeing around with hairy legs and bad teeth.

So that’s where all of my pens went. I suspect he has a few of my socks as well, Paige P.

Day 1229 of 365 4 lyf.

If I were smart, I'd pack for a trip ahead of time. I'm not smart. I'm stupid, so I don't even do laundry early. I suck. So instead I end up staying up half the night trying to get everything ready when I have a 7am flight. Ugh....

I thought maybe things would be easier if steph could just shove me in the suitcase and take me as her luggage. It didn't quite work out.

Day 1228 of 365 4 lyf.

Christmas part 3. Celebration with friends. The last several years, Steph and I have invited friends over to help us decorate our tree and exchange presents. We decided to do it today to extend our Christmas yet another day.

Tomorrow is my last day of work this year. Woohoo!

Day 1227 of 365 4 lyf.

Christmas part 2. Actually yesterday was Christmas part 1 but I didn't take a picture for it. Steph and I are going to visit my mom for actual Christmas so we didn't want to carry all our gifts down there, so we opened presents from each other yesterday and presents from her family today. You know, it's actually kind of neat stretching Christmas out for the entire week.

[i]cuteoverload: At Last, a Moment to Myself

“Whew!  I cannot believe I held it together this year.  Got all the Christmas cards mailed, shuttled three sets of relatives from airports to hotels, and got all the presents wrapped and under the tree at the last minute.

“Well, at least Junior’s decided to do me a favor and let me sleep in on Christmas morning…”

[i]cuteoverload: Artsy-Fartsy Baby Bongo Born at Busch Gardens

The other animals thought he was crazy when he started painting his own body. But we just call him Keith Haring.

And here’s the real story: Busch Gardens welcomed a baby bongo to the park Sept. 13. Bongo are native to the rainforests of Africa. Busch Gardens cares for the endangered Eastern Mountain subspecies of bongo.

[i]cuteoverload: In Approximately 8 Seconds, Prepare to Roll Eyes, Groan

The Rebel Alliance, a.k.a. Sitting Kitten and his #2, Crazy Eyes, observed the enemy for some time and meticulously planned their attack.

It was a huge success, albeit a sloppy one, and the battle became known as Custard’s Last Stand.

Help me, Yogurt-On Mekitti, you’re our only hope.

I guess you could help too, Cathy O.
